About us

New company. Not new consultants.

KiwiFlights sells premium-cabin long-haul airfares to Australians and New Zealanders. That is the whole business — not a sideline of a bigger one.

01Founded this year, staffed by people who weren’t

KiwiFlights was incorporated in 2026. We say that plainly, because it is on the companies register anyway and because a new business claiming a long trading history is the first sign it isn’t worth trusting.

What isn’t new is the desk. Our consultants have each spent more than twenty years in premium airfare — at IATA-accredited agencies, airline reservations desks and corporate travel departments across New Zealand and the region. Between them they have issued tens of thousands of long-haul premium tickets, held consolidator contracts with most of the carriers we quote, and rebooked more disrupted itineraries at three in the morning than they would care to count.

An agency is not a building or a brand. It is the judgement of the person answering the phone and the strength of the contracts sitting behind them. Ours arrived fully formed — which is precisely why we could open with contract fares rather than spend three years earning them.

What being new does and doesn’t change

It doesn’t change how your booking works. Your ticket is issued by the airline directly into its own system in your name, so it exists independently of us — and of how long we have traded. We’re registered with IATA’s TIDS and hold any pre-payment in a separate client account. For anything those don’t recover, paying by credit card (for chargeback rights) and holding travel insurance are your real protections. We are not a bonded agency, and we don’t pretend to be.

02Why the specialisation matters

Premium-cabin fares out of this part of the world are not sold the way Economy is. There are fewer than a dozen carriers worth flying to Europe, the sectors are among the longest in commercial aviation, and the good fares live in negotiated contracts that never appear on a public search engine.

Working one market and one product means our consultants know which aircraft flies your date, which connection is actually survivable, and which fare classes still earn status credits. That is not information you can look up. It is the only reason a person beats a search box on this kind of purchase.

03How we make money, stated plainly

We earn commission from airlines and a margin on the fares we negotiate; any service fee is already inside the price we quote. The price you see is the price you pay — taxes and charges in, and nothing added at the last step.

This creates an obvious conflict: we are paid more when you spend more. Our answer is that we tell you when we think you are about to overpay — when First is not worth double Business on your dates, when Premium Economy is enough for a ten-hour sector, when the airline’s own sale beats our contract fare. It costs us money in the moment. It is why two-thirds of our bookings come from people who have booked with us before.

04How we’re set up

We are registered with IATA’s Travel Industry Designator Service (TIDS), which gives us a recognised identity in airline bookings and lets us book across the carriers we work with. We want to be precise about what that is and isn’t: TIDS is an industry identifier, not a bond, and New Zealand does not run a statutory travel compensation fund. We are not a bonded agency, and we will not imply we are.

What that means for you in practice is good: your ticket is issued by the airline directly into its own system in your name, so it exists independently of us. Money you pay us before we pay the airline sits in a separate client account. And paying by credit card gives you chargeback rights, which — together with travel insurance — is the protection we point customers to.

Something trickier than a return flight?

Multi-city trips, groups of nine or more, flying home from a different city, or dates that need to move — a search box gives up here, a person doesn’t. Ask us to price it. It costs nothing and usually comes back cheaper.
